REAL PEOPLE. REAL CASES. REALLY HIGH JUDGE.

"THE HIGH COURT" STARRING DOUG BENSON PREMIERES MONDAY, FEBRUARY 27 AT MIDNIGHT ET/PT ON COMEDY CENTRAL(R)

Twenty-Episode Fifteen-Minute Strip Series is Executive Produced by Benson, Bruce Smith, JASH's Daniel Kellison and Mickey Meyer and Propagate's Ben Silverman, Howard Owens and Kevin Healey

PASADENA, January 13, 2017 - Odor in the court! The "highest court in the land" just took on a new meaning in "The High Court," a new Comedy Central series from comedian Doug Benson. "THC" is a fifteen-minute strip series featuring "Judge Doug" as he gets high and rules on real small claims court cases. Throughout the twenty-episode first season, Benson and his comedian friends will assume the roles of Judge and Bailiff of "The High Court." The series premieres Monday, February 27 at midnight, after an all-new episode of "@midnight with Chris Hardwick," and will air Monday-Thursday at midnight with two back-to-back episodes on Thursday nights from midnight-12:30 a.m. ET/PT.

By combining Benson's affable stoner approach to life with the television staple that is courtroom reality shows, "The High Court" is a toke of "Judge Judy" mixed with two healthy bong loads of Benson's own successful comedy talk show, JASH's "Getting Doug with High." What you are about to witness is real. The participants are not actors. They are the actual people who have already either filed suit or been served a summons to appear in a U.S. municipal court. Both parties in the suit have agreed to dismiss their court cases and have their disputes settled here, by... a stand-up comedian... under the influence of marijuana. All rise for Your Highness... This is "The High Court" with Judge Doug Benson.

In the episode "Driving Miss Johnson," Judge Doug presides over a case involving a mother who claims her daughter owes her money that was lent to her for the purchase of a car, but the daughter claims she paid the mother back by driving her around town. Geoff Tate serves as guest bailiff. In "Someone is Paying For This Tow Job," Judge Doug settles a heated dispute about a car that was towed and impounded after it was loaned to a friend. Tiffany Haddish serves as guest bailiff.

"The High Court" will serve content to fans on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and on Comedy Central's channel on Snapchat Discover. "The High Court" will produce digital exclusives and extended segments, offer weekly sneak peek and highlight clips across the show's social platforms and on cc.com and YouTube, and fans will be encouraged to participate in daily polls on Twitter to see if they side with the defendant, plaintiff or neither side.

Benson is a comedian, actor and marijuana advocate who hosts the podcasts "Getting Doug with High" and "Doug Loves Movies." He is a regular guest on Comedy Central's late-night series "@midnight with Chris Hardwick" and has appeared on the Comedy Central series "The Benson Interruption," "Comedy Central Presents," and "Live at Gotham." He has released four Comedy Central Records including, "Unbalanced Load," "Hypocritical Oaf," "Potty Mouth," and "Smug Life." Benson has also appeared in his documentary film "Super High Me," as well as in VH1's "Best Week Ever," and the fifth season of NBC's "Last Comic Standing."

Executive produced by Benson, Bruce Smith, JASH's Daniel Kellison and Mickey Meyer and Propagate's Ben Silverman, Howard Owens and Kevin Healey, "The High Court" concept is loosely born from Benson and JASH's popular YouTube show, "Getting Doug with High." Gary Mann and Daniel Wolfberg are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central. JASH and Propagate will co-produce the series.
