BEHIND ENEMY LINES (FOX) - Nestor Carbonell and Colm Feore have both boarded the movie-turned-drama pilot as Mateo Rodriguez, "a respected career Navy man and Executive Officer on the USS Tyson aircraft carrier"; and Undersecretary of State David Alexander, "a former Naval Officer working for Secretary of State Byron James and husband to Navy Admiral Bobbie Decker (Marg Helgenberger)," respectively. (Deadline.com)
BLUEGRASS/BLOOD RED (ABC) - Roslyn Ruff is the latest addition to the drama pilot as Inez Winemiller, "a jolly church lady who runs the local bed and breakfast." (Deadline.com)
CONTROVERSY (FOX) - Erin Moriarty has snagged a role on the drama pilot, about Matt Kincaid (Austin Stowell), the Junior Counsel of a prestigious Illinois university must deal with an out-of-control scandal when a young co-ed accuses several star football players of sexual assault. From the football coaches and boosters who wield outsize influence, to a university administration under siege, the series explores the type of high-profile controversy all-too familiar on today's college campuses, as well as the corrosive, dangerous nature of institutional power. She'll play said co-ed, Cassie Sullivan. (Deadline.com)
DYNASTY (The CW) - Alan Dale has been tapped for a role on the network's reboot of the 1980s staple as the butler, Anders. (Variety.com)
FOR GOD & COUNTRY (NBC) - Sofia Pernas is bound for the drama pilot as Hannah Archer, "a member of Patricia's (Anne Heche) team of analysts at the Defense Intelligence Agency." (Deadline.com)
GOSPEL OF KEVIN, THE (ABC) - Cristela Alonzo ("Cristela") is back in business with the Alphabet as part of the drama pilot, about Kevin (Jason Ritter), a down-on-his-luck man who is tasked by God with a mission to save the world. She'll play Yvette: "Tough-talking but not without compassion, a "source of luminescence" and clearly divine, Yvette is a "warrior for God," who explains to Kevin that he's been "tasked with a sacred mission." (Deadline.com)
INSATIABLE (The CW) - Dallas Roberts and Sarah Colonna have both been tapped for the drama pilot, about Bob (Dallas), a disgraced, dissatisfied civil lawyer-turned-beauty pageant coach who takes on Patty (Debby Ryan), a vengeful, bullied teenager as his client, and has no idea what he's about to unleash upon the world. Roberts' Bob is "handsome, immaculately dressed married father of two teenage kids who is bullied by his wife and his dad (his boss, the head of the law firm)." Colonna then will play Patty's mother Angie, "a sexy (almost Miss Georgia, back in the day), alcoholic single mom." (Deadline.com)
LINDA FROM HR (FOX) - Tim DeKay and Zachary Knighton will both join Lauren Graham on the comedy pilot. DeKay will play Linda's husband Dan Plugh, "an average guy who can't help but win people over"; while Knighton is on board as Alan, "an accountant on a work trip who has been enjoying spending lunches with Linda and is hiding a secret." (Deadline.com)
PERFECT CITIZEN (CBS) - Shanley Caswell, Adrienne Warren and Stephanie Szostak are all bound for the Noah Wyle-led drama pilot. Caswell will play Vivian "Viv" Parsons, "Deck's (Wyle) daughter. Viv is a gifted young lawyer dealing with the personal and professional impact caused by the controversy swirling around her father." Warren then is set as Ingrid Poe, "Deck's deputy at the NSA, intelligent, resourceful, unflappable - and most importantly, unswervingly loyal"; with Szostak as Tess Adande, "one of the two female partners at the law firm. Tess is charismatic, glamorous, works off her instincts and knows how appealing she is to men and women." (Deadline.com)
POWERLESS (NBC) - Adam West will drop by the newcomer as Dean West, the chairman of Wayne Industries. "Mr. West visits Charm City to deliver the bad news to Bruce Wayne's cousin Van (Alan Tudyk) and his employee Emily (Vanessa Hudgens) that the company has to make cuts following an attack on Gotham City." (TVLine.com)
REDLINERS (NBC) - Alan Powell is the latest addition to the drama pilot as Wynn Rhymer, "a cop in Anne's (Hannah Ware) quiet New York suburb, the vigilant father of a teenage daughter, and a bit suspicious of what his new girlfriend is getting up to." (Deadline.com)
RESIDENT, THE (FOX) - Shaunette Renée Wilson has been cast in the drama pilot as Mina Okafor, "a Nigerian rising surgical star recently trained on a new device that could redefine surgery." Matt Czuchry, Manish Dayal and Bruce Greenwood also star in the project.
SALAMANDER (ABC) - John Leguizamo has signed onto the drama pilot as David Vargas, "an ex-cop - now a bartender at a 10th Avenue dive bar - and one of Ethan's best friends." (Deadline.com)
SHARP OBJECTS (HBO) - Patricia Clarkson has joined Amy Adams in the long-in-the-works adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel. She'll play Adora Crellin, "Camille's (Adams) mother, and queen of Wind Gap's highest society. Haunted by the untimely passing of Camille's sister decades earlier, her anxiety is manifested through an overbearing love and protection for her youngest, Amma. The sudden return of her estranged daughter, Camille, provokes her subtle hostility that threatens Camille's sobriety and sanity." (Deadline.com)
TRUSTEE, THE (ABC) - Laverne Cox ("Doubt") is set as the title role on the drama pilot, about Eliza Radley (Meaghan Rath), a very good, but slightly reckless narcotics detective who finds out that her police station's "trustee" - a nonviolent felon assigned to help cops with odd jobs, filing, custodial work - has insight into a case she's trying to crack, and the two women are forced to team up. She'll play Amanda Jones, said trustee, in the project, which is in second position to the recent pulled CBS drama. (Deadline.com)
UNIT ZERO (ABC) - Dana Powell has joined the cast of the Toni Collette-led drama pilot as Midge Glass, "a 35-year veteran of the CIA and Jackie's (Collette) loyal friend." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED CASSIE PAPPAS PROJECT (Amazon, New!) - Cassie Pappas ("Tyrant") is developing a limited drama series as the streaming service about an all-girl rodeo set in 1942: "While the men are away fighting during World War II, women in small-town Texas form the first All Girl Rodeo, riding to unprecedented fame and fortune - as long as they can hold on." Jill Soloway and Andrea Sperling's Amazon Studios-based Topple Productions is behind the hour. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MARVEL ACTION-ADVENTURE SERIES (FOX) - Coby Bell has snagged a role on the Marvel drama pilot as Jace Turner, "a weathered man who quietly wrestles with the moral ambiguities of a job that regularly requires cold-blooded, calculating efficiency on a day-to-day basis." (Deadline.com)
WISDOM OF THE CROWD (CBS) - Richard T. Jones has signed onto the Jeremy Piven-led drama pilot as Tommy Cavanaugh, "a traditional crime solver who's recruited by Tanner (Piven) to join the CrowdSolver team, but he'll have to get used to the high-tech way of doing things." (Deadline.com)
