JOHNNY GALECKI AND SCIENCE CHANNEL JOIN FORCES FOR PRANK SERIES "SCIJINKS" (WT)

(New York) -Johnny Galecki will appear in and executive produce SCIJINKS (wt), a new Science Channel series scheduled to premiere in 4th quarter 2017. SCIJINKS will use cutting-edge science as the foundation for outrageous stunts and practical jokes, creating the smartest prank show on television. The announcement was made today by Marc Etkind, General Manager of Science Channel.

Galecki will orchestrate a team of brilliant and inventive scientists drawing from chemistry, physics, technology, engineering and more, with never-before-seen pranks designed to introduce audiences to remarkable and unusual scientific discoveries. Along with Galecki, each of the eight, 30 minute episodes will be guided by scientists, physicists and stem students. Galecki's Alcide Bava Productions and A. Smith & Co. Productions will produce the series.

"One of the most rewarding elements of being on The Big Bang Theory has been being approached by younger people who claim they never before had considered a life in the sciences until watching the show. Our goal on 'Big Bang' is to make people laugh. These kids are molding our culture, building our future and even curing diseases. SciJinks is a way to celebrate them and hopefully inspire more young people to follow in their footsteps -- while having an absurdly good and mischievous time," said Galecki.

"Johnny's humor and talent have charmed millions of fans for years, myself included," added Marc Etkind, General Manager of Science Channel. "We are so glad to reward his loyal fans with this fun and fascinating series that features mind-blowing science."

With a professional acting career that spans more than 25 years, Johnny Galecki is best known for his role on the hugely popular television series The Big Bang Theory. Galecki has garnered an Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) nomination, along with those from the Critic's Choice Awards, People's Choice Awards(R) and five consecutive ensemble nominations by the Screen Actors Guild Awards, among others.

Galecki has been in a number of successful roles from "Entourage," "Hope & Faith," and most notably in the role of David Healey in the series "Roseanne." Galecki has been nominated for numerous awards, including the 2015 Critics Choice Television Awards for Best Actor in a Comedy Series in addition to a 2014 Online Film & Television Association (OFTA) Television Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.

SCIJINKS will be produced by Alcide Bava Productions and A. Smith & Co. Productions ("American Ninja Warrior," "Hell's Kitchen") for Science Channel. Johnny Galecki and Andrew Haas are executive producers for Alcide Bava Productions. Arthur Smith, Frank Sinton and Toby Gorman are executive producers for A. Smith & Co. Productions. Caroline Perez is executive producer for Science Channel.

About Alcide Brava Productions

Established in 2015, Alcide Bava Productions is a multimedia production company led by "The Big Bang Theory" star Johnny Galecki (Executive) and former Paramount executive and De Line Pictures president Andrew Haas (Vice President/Producer). Housed at Warner Bros. Television, the company maintains a first-look television deal with the studio while seeking to broaden into other mediums, including feature film, digital and theater. With an emphasis on forging relationships with writers and other creative talents, Alcide Bava evolves its production slate guided by the approach Galecki has embraced in his acting career: Keep people guessing what's next. Along with its first sold script, a comedy from writer Scott King for CBS, Alcide Bava's principals took an active role in shepherding the comedy fantasy feature The Master Cleanse, executive produced by Galecki, who stars with Anna Friel, Angelica Houston and Oliver Platt. The film, which premiered at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival, spotlights a heartbroken man on a spiritual retreat who discovers that it releases more than everyday toxins and traumatic experiences. Alcide Bava is currently in pre-production on "Living Biblically," a half-hour, multi-camera show for CBS which marks the production company's first pilot order. Directed by multi-Emmy winner Andy Ackerman ("Seinfeld," "Cheers"), with Galecki and Haas serving as executive producers, the comedy series is adapted by A.J. Jacobs and Patrick Walsh from Jacobs' nonfiction book about a man who tries to live in accordance with the Bible's teachings as closely as possible. Casting is currently underway for the pilot, to be shot in mid-April. Other multi-genre projects in active development include the adaptation of a well-known graphic novel as a cable series, two other half-hour pilots, a digital series on the illusions of modern employment, and a live musical theater project, among others in the pipeline.
