TBS & TNT Reimagine the Viewing Experience with Major Mobile & Digital Upgrades and Expansion to More Connected Devices

Initiative Includes New App Launches on Roku, Chromecast & VIZIO SmartCast, Plus Complete Redesigns of the Networks' Streaming Apps for iOS, Apple TV, Android and Amazon Fire

Four years after becoming the first national entertainment networks to stream on-air content live, Turner's TBS & TNT are once again leading the industry in reimagining the television viewing experience. Through an extensive multiplatform initiative, the two networks have begun issuing major updates to their streaming apps for iOS, Apple TV, Android, and Amazon Fire, as well as to the tbs.com and tntdrama.com websites In addition, TBS & TNT are expanding their digital footprint to new platforms with app launches available today on Roku(R) devices and Google Chromecast, as well as on VIZIO SmartCast devices. The networks will also launch their immersive app experiences on other g ame consoles and connected televisions later this year.

TBS & TNT's digital upgrades and platform expansion are key components in a larger Turner initiative to transform the viewing experience across the company's leading portfolio of entertainment, kids, news and sports brands. The upgrades underline the company's commitment to reaching and engaging with new audiences across all platforms and to providing fans with their favorite premium content - including such hits as TBS's Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, The Detour and Angie Tribeca, and TNT's Animal Kingdom and Good Behavior - anytime, anywhere and on any device.

"Our digital and mobile upgrades reflect TBS & TNT's renewed commitment to transform traditional TV viewing into an experience that truly redefines what it means to 'watch TV,'" said Jesse Redniss, chief innovation officer for TBS & TNT. "By including industry-leading casting technology and instant-on previews, as well as an overall premium environment, we're creating better experiences for both our fans and advertising partners."

At the center of TBS & TNT's mobile and digital upgrades are top-to-bottom redesigns of the networks' consumer websites and video apps. Among the improvements, TBS & TNT are the first major television networks to incorporate Vizbee technology into their streaming apps. This revolutionary technology allows viewers to cast content seamlessly from a mobile device to any connected screen, without the need for a special app or plug-in. In addition, the Vizbee integration allows the TBS and TNT apps to identify what streaming media players are near the viewer and prompts them to choose where they would like to watch the content.

TBS & TNT will also feature "instant-on" access and pre-login "freeviews" for major programming events. The "instant-on" feature allows users to watch premium content as soon as they open the app or website. With "freeviews," first-time users are able to watch up to five minutes of any on-demand program or 10 minutes of any live event, including sports, before being asked to sign in to an authenticated account. These features will allow users to sample the networks' programming easily before making their viewing choice.

The networks' app and website improvements also include Spotlight, which allows limited sampling across the two networks by offering select TNT content on the TBS apps and select TBS content on the TNT apps. In addition, the networks have added the ability for viewers to switch from one device to another smoothly without losing their place in a program. TBS & TNT have also significantly improved deep linking between social media, interactive ads and other digital media, allowing users to travel seamlessly to and from content.

"By eliminating friction points between television, mobile and digital screens, we've created a completely fluid viewing experience," said Karina Kogan, senior vice president of digital media and products for TBS & TNT. "And in doing so, we've taken a giant step toward achieving our primary goal of giving viewers more control than ever before in deciding how, when and where they can enjoy their favorite shows, sports and major events."

The upgrades to TBS & TNT's digital and mobile products come just in time for sports fans to watch TNT's award-winning coverage of the NBA playoffs. To mark the occasion, the networks are giving both subscribers and non-subscribers the chance to check out some of their high-profile original series through the newly upgraded digital products, including select episodes of TNT's Animal Kingdom, Good Behavior, The Last Ship and American Race, and TBS's Angie Tribeca, The Detour and ELEAGUE.
