BACHELORETTE, THE (ABC) - The Alphabet is reportedly mulling "a potential quarantine-themed spin-off" of the series featuring Clare Crawley. Crawley had been set to topline the upcoming 16th edition of the series, which has been shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (Deadline.com)
MALLTOWN (A.K.A. MALL TOWN USA) (Comedy Central) - Natasha Rothwell has signed onto the long-in-the-works animated comedy pilot, which follows the afterschool misadventures of a 13-year-old girl navigating the complexities of life in the classic microcosm of American culture that is The Mall. She'll voice the aforementioned Libby as well as executive produce alongside Abbi Jacobson, Ilana Glazer and Mike Perry. It's not clear if original creator, Gabe Liedman, is still attached. TRE CNT (HBO, New!) - Mohamad El Masri has sold a potential comedy to the pay channel which "focuses on Cassius Jones, a young dock worker and struggling pro-wrestler, who uses inherited life-insurance money for start-up cash and the deed to a shotgun house from his grandfather to start a hip-hop centric backyard wrestling empire in Houston's Third Ward (The Tre) with the help of his working-class family, neighbors, and friends." Seven Bucks Productions' Dwayne Johnson, Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia; Issa Rae Productions' Issa Rae and Montrel McKay; 3 Arts Entertainment's Dave Becky, Tom Lassally, and Jonathan Berry; and showrunner Judah Miller also serve as executive producers.
