COVID DIARIES NYC (Documentary)

Synopsis: This documentary chronicles the lives of five young filmmakers, ranging in age from 17 to 21, who turn their cameras on themselves to tell the stories of their families during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City. The deeply personal film illuminates the plight of essential workers and their families during the early days of the COVID-19 crisis as they navigate the deadly virus and a country riven by social upheaval.

THE DAY SPORTS STOOD STILL (Sports Documentary)

Synopsis: This feature-length documentary tells the story of the unprecedented sports shutdown in March of 2020 and the remarkable turn of events that followed. Emmy(R)-winning director Antoine Fuqua (HBO's "What's My Name | Muhammad Ali") chronicles the abrupt stoppage, athletes' prominent role in the cultural reckoning on racial injustices that escalated during the pandemic and the complex return to competition in the summer and fall.

TINA (Documentary)

Synopsis: This feature documentary from Academy Award(R)-winning directors Dan Lindsay, T.J. Martin and Lightbox, the production company founded by Academy Award-winning producer Simon Chinn and Emmy(R)-winning producer Jonathan Chinn, together with Emmy-nominated producer Diane Becker, is a revealing and intimate look at the life and career of musical icon Tina Turner, charting her improbable rise to early fame, her personal and professional struggles throughout her life and her even more improbable resurgence as a global phenomenon in the 1980s.

Synopsis: This limited series stars Kate Winslet as Mare Sheehan, a small-town Pennsylvania detective who investigates a local murder as life crumbles around her. THE NEVERS (Drama Series)

Synopsis: In the last years of Victoria's reign, London is beset by the "Touched": people - mostly women - who suddenly manifest abnormal abilities - some charming, some very disturbing. Among them are Amalia True (Laura Donnelly), a mysterious, quick-fisted widow, and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), a brilliant young inventor. They are the champions of this new underclass, making a home for the Touched, while fighting the forces of... well, pretty much all the forces - to make room for those whom history as we know it has no place.

Synopsis: This Emmy(R)-winning drama series is returning for a fourth season on HBO with Uzo Aduba set to star. The reimagining of the series brings a diverse trio of patients in session with the observant, empathetic Dr. Brooke Taylor (Aduba) while she wrestles with her own issues in this half-hour drama series.

THE CRIME OF THE CENTURY (Two-Part Documentary Series)

Synopsis: This two-part documentary directed by Emmy(R) and Academy Award(R) winner Alex Gibney (HBO's "The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley," "Going Clear: Scientology & the Prison of Belief"), is a searing indictment of Big Pharma and the political operatives and government regulations that enable over-production, reckless distribution and abuse of synthetic opiates. Exploring the origins, extent and fallout of one of the most devastating public health tragedies of our time, with half a million deaths from overdoses this century alone, the film reveals that America's opioid epidemic is not a public health crisis that came out of nowhere.

Synopsis: This five-episode limited drama series from Sweden, explores the hopes that bring a small community together, the secrets that tear it apart, the courage it takes for an individual to go against the group and the consequences of how we raise our children. With a small-town Swedish junior ice-hockey team having a shot at winning the national semi-finals, all the dreams of the locals now rest on the shoulders of a handful of teenage boys. This heavy burden becomes the catalyst for a violent act that will leave a young girl traumatized and a town in turmoil. Accusations are made, and like ripples on a pond, they travel through Beartown, leaving no resident unaffected.

ALLEN V. FARROW (Documentary Series)

Synopsis: From award-winning investigative filmmakers Kirby Dick & Amy Ziering and Amy Herdy, this four-part documentary series goes behind decades of sensational headlines to reveal the private story of one of Hollywood's most notorious and public scandals: the accusation of sexual abuse against Woody Allen involving Dylan, his then seven-year-old daughter with Mia Farrow; their subsequent custody trial, the revelation of Allen's relationship with Farrow's daughter, Soon-Yi; and the controversial aftermath in the years that followed. Once celebrated for their on and off-screen partnership, Farrow and Allen's lives were irrevocably fractured and their sprawling family torn apart with the public disclosure of the abuse allegations and the vitriolic disputes that followed.

THE INVESTIGATION (Limited Drama Series)

Synopsis: From Oscar-nominated Tobias Lindholm, THE INVESTIGATION explores the complex real-life investigation surrounding the 2017 murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall, making international headlines around the world as one of the most notorious criminal cases in Danish media history. Based on the internationally followed "submarine case," the series closely follows Jens Møller (Søren Malling), the Head of Homicide, and his team in the pursuit of the truth. With the hope of being able to provide the prosecutor (Pilou Asbæk) solid evidence in order to create a convincing case and give the relatives the certainty they deserve, the team enlists the use of methodical, unusual and technical work tactics. The series was made in close cooperation with the real-life Jens Møller and Kim Wall's parents, Ingrid and Joachim Wall.

LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER

Synopsis: The only weekly news-oriented comedy series to be presented on Sunday night, this series takes a satirical look at news, politics and current events. Taped in New York a few hours before it debuts, the Emmy(R)-winning show features Oliver's topical commentary on the previous week's events, as well as addressing broader issues.

REAL SPORTS WITH BRYANT GUMBEL (Sports Series)

EXTERMINATE ALL THE BRUTES (Four-Part Documentary Series)

Synopsis: This four-part documentary series by acclaimed filmmaker Raoul Peck ("I Am Not Your Negro," HBO's "Sometimes in April") pushes the boundaries of traditional documentary filmmaking, offering an expansive exploration of the exploitative and genocidal aspects of European colonialism, from America to Africa and its impact on society today.

Status: The series will debut on HBO with two back-to-back episodes April 7, with the final two episodes airing back-to-back April 8. The film's HBO debut date coincides with the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda.

SEEN & HEARD (Two-Part Documentary)

Synopsis: This two-part documentary explores the history of Black television as seen through the eyes of trailblazers who wrote, produced, created and starred in groundbreaking series of the past and present. The documentary will offer cultural commentary about representation in black storytelling and feature interviews with actors, showrunners, writers, celebrities and other notable influencers as well as verité-driven segments and inventive use of archival material.

THE GILDED AGE (Drama Series)

Synopsis: The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic change, of huge fortunes made and lost, and the rise of disparity between old money and new. Against this backdrop of change, the story begins in 1882 - introducing young Marian Brook, the orphaned daughter of a Union general, who moves into the New York City home of her thoroughly old money aunts Agnes van Rhijn and Ada Brook. Accompanied by Peggy Scott, an accomplished African-American woman, Marian inadvertently becomes enmeshed in a social war between one of her aunts, a scion of the old money set, and her stupendously rich neighbors, a ruthless railroad tycoon and his ambitious wife, George and Bertha Russell. In this exciting new world that is on the brink of the modern age, will Marian follow the established rules of society, or forge her own path?

Synopsis: An adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's classic series, Scenes from a Marriage, that re-examines the show's iconic depiction of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple.

LANDSCAPERS (Limited Series)

Synopsis: Inspired by real events, the drama explores the lives of convicted killers Susan and Christopher Edwards and asks how this devoted and mild-mannered couple came to kill Susan's parents and bury them in the back garden of their Mansfield home, in a crime that remained undiscovered for over a decade. This blackly comic, narratively playful true crime drama is based on extensive research, hours of interviews and direct access to the accused, who have always protested their innocence of murder.

Synopsis: Terrifying and darkly comic THE BABY gleefully deconstructs the "joy of motherhood," exploring the powerful anxiety of whether or not to have children, questioning who gets to choose "motherhood" and who doesn't.

OSLO (Film)
