CHASE, THE (ABC) - Mark Labbett, better known as The Beast, a staple on the game show's various incarnations, has signed onto the new season on ABC. He'll join James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter as one of the resident "chasers." (Deadline.com)
GREEN LANTERN (HBO Max) - Jeremy Irvine is in talks to star as Alan Scott in the streamer's latest DC Comics adaptation. (Deadline.com)
JACK REACHER (Amazon) - Bruce McGill, Maria Sten and Hugh Thompson are all bound for the Alan Ritchson-led drama, based on Lee Child's bestselling books. McGill will play Mayor Teale, "the distinguished mayor of Margrave, who comes from a long line of Southern gentlemen who have run Margrave for decade." Sten is "the irreverent Frances Neagley. She formerly worked under Reacher as an Army MP and now is a private investigator, she is Reacher's best friend." And Thompson will portray Baker, "the head cop of Margrave. Baker enjoys his position of power but hates Detective Finlay (Malcolm Goodwin)." (Deadline.com)
SEX LIVES OF COLLEGE GIRLS, THE (HBO Max) - The Mindy Kaling-produced comedy has tapped Sherri Shepherd, Maya Rose, Rob Huebel, Nicole Sullivan, Conor Donnally, Sierra Katow, Mekki Leeper and James Morosini for recurring roles. No specifics however were given. (Deadline.com)
WE OWN THIS CITY (HBO) - Jon Bernthal, Josh Charles and Jamie Hector are set to star in the six-hour limited series from David Simon and George Pelecanos, which has also added Reinaldo Marcus Green as director and executive producer. Bernthal plays Wayne Jenkins, "the central figure in the sprawling federal corruption case that centered on the agency's Gun Trace Task Force, a plainclothes unit that went completely rogue and began hunting and robbing citizens and drug dealers alike as decades of a relentless drug war and mass incarceration in Baltimore spun wildly out of control." Charles then is Daniel Hersl, "who was a cocky, swaggering cop known amongst Baltimore residents for his casual brutality and was the subject of multiple citizen complaints." And Hector plays Sean M. Suiter, "a Baltimore City Homicide detective who was caught up in the GTTF case and called to testify before a federal grand jury." Ed Burns and Kary Antholis also serves as executive producers with Bill Zorzi as co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
WEDNESDAY (Netflix) - Jenna Ortega has booked the title role in Tim Burton's live-action "The Addams Family" series, "a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams' (Ortega) years as a student at Nevermore Academy. That's where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago - all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships."
