Apple TV+ today announced a series order for "The Changeling," a new drama series based on the acclaimed, best-selling book of the same name by Victor LaValle with LaKeith Stanfield ("Atlanta," "Judas and the Black Messiah," "The Harder They Fall") attached to star and executive produce. The series will be written and adapted by Kelly Marcel ("Cruella," "Venom," "Venom" 2), who will also serve as showrunner and executive producer. Melina Matsoukas ("Queen & Slim," "Insecure") will direct and executive produce the series.

"The Changeling" is a fairytale for grown-ups. A horror story, a parenthood fable and a perilous odyssey through a New York City you didn't know existed.

The series will be produced for Apple TV+ by Apple Studios and Annapurna. Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle, Patrick Chu, and Ali Krug will executive produce on behalf of Annapurna. Matsoukas will executive produce through her De La Revolution Films, and Khaliah Neal will co-executive produce.

Jackson, and based on the moving novel by best-selling author Walter Mosley; "Emancipation,"a new film from director Antoine Fuqua and starring and produced by Academy Award-nominee Will Smith; the highly sought after film "Killers of the Flower Moon," directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro; "WeCrashed," a new limited series starring Academy Award-winners Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway; "Masters of the Air," a new limited drama series from Apple Studios and executive produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television, and Tom Hanks & Gary Goetzman's Playtone; a new drama series from Team Downey and Adam Perlman; "High Desert," a new comedy series that will star Patricia Arquette, who will also executive produce alongside director Ben Stiller; "Lessons in Chemistry" starring and executive produced by Academy Award-winner Brie Larson, and written and executive produced by Academy Award-nominee Susannah Grant; and, "Surface," a new psychological thriller starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and created by Veronica West.
