ERIC (Netflix) - Benedict Cumberbatch is in final talks to star in the six-episode limited series: "Set in 1980's New York, the show would see Cumberbatch star as Vincent Sullivan, the lead puppet maker and puppeteer of America's most popular children's show, whose life begins to unravel when his young son, Edgar, disappears. Now homeless and dealing with substance addiction, Vincent finds his only companion is Eric, a seven-foot tall blue puppet, who leads him on a journey to find his son and to find a way home." Writer Abi Morgan, Jane Featherstone, Lucy Dyke, Carolyn Strauss are executive producers with Lucy Forbes directing. (Variety.com)
FLASH, THE (The CW) - Stephen Amell will reprise his "Arrow" role of Oliver Queen for the show's ninth episode of its final season. He'll join David Ramsey, Keiynan Lonsdale and Sendhil Ramamurthy who will also make return trips for said installment. (Deadline.com)
SHARDLAKE (Disney+, New!) - CJ Sansom's bestselling "Shardlake" novels are getting a TV take at the streamer, "depicting an unlikely detective working under Henry VIII's reign." Director Justin Chadwick is among the auspices for The Forge. It is expected to shoot in the U.K. this year. (Deadline.com)
