1883: THE BASS REEVES STORY (Paramount+) - The David Oyelowo-led limited series has cast Joaquina Kalukango as Esme, "a former enslaved woman who is as good as family with the Reeves' and also has some different ideas about the future"; Lonnie Chavis as Arthur Mayberry, "a sweet young boy with eyes for the Reeves' daughter Sally"; Rob Morgan as Ramsey, "a once-strong man who has been broken by time"; Ryan O'Nan as Darrell Dolliver, "one of the two Dolliver outlaws Bass is tasked with tracking down and bringing to justice"; and Justin Hurtt-Dunkley as Ike, "a deputy U.S. marshal." COMPANY YOU KEEP, THE (ABC) - Geoff Stults will recur on the freshman drama as Simon Norris, "Birdie Nicoletti's (Sarah Wayne Callies) ex and absentee father of Ollie. Handsome, charismatic and from a wealthy East Coast family, Simon once had the New York art scene in the palm of his hands. Now a recovering addict, Simon's worked hard to put his life back together and become the kind of man who's worthy of being in Birdie and Ollie's life. When Birdie comes to him for help, Simon assists in a dangerous heist that could put his whole career at risk, but he'll do whatever he can to prove to Birdie he's really changed." (Deadline.com)

DRUG SPIES (FX, New!) - Writer Noah Pink, author Kirk Wallace Johnson and director Kari Skogland are developing a new drama at the cable channel inspired by true events, which "tells the story of two former CIA special forces soldiers who are dispatched by Big Pharma to take down the most prominent generic drug producer in the world." Kate Fenske, Adam Hoff, Teddy Smith and Tom Carter will also executive produce for Sister and Oil & Cattle. (Deadline.com)
GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOW, THE (Netflix) - Alison Hammond has been tapped to co-host the series alongside Noel Fielding, taking over for the departing Matt Lucas. (@AlisonHammond)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Kelly McCreary, who "has played Maggie Pierce, Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) half-sister and head of the hospital's cardiothoracic surgery since the end of Season 10," is departing the series after nine years with her last episode due on April 13. (Deadline.com)
JUMP START (CBS) - Terry Crews is the first to be cast in the multi-camera comedy pilot based on Robb Armstrong's long-running comic strip, which has also added Phill Lewis as director and executive producer, replacing Kelly Park due to changes in the production schedule. Crews's Joe Cobb is "a devoted husband, son, father and Philadelphia police officer. He is also a proud Black man and often feels pressured to be flawless in each of his roles, especially in light of controversies surrounding cops. He is a charming and exuberant role model in his community. Joe loves his wife and family, but does come up short in hilarious and endearing ways that keep audiences cheering for him." (Deadline.com)
MARIE ANTOINETTE (PBS) - Original broadcaster Canal+ has commissioned a second season of the series, due to launch in the U.S. this Sunday on PBS. (Variety.com)
MURDER BY THE BOOK (NBC) - Michael Weaver has been tapped to direct the pilot, which stars Retta as a "big city Instafamous book reviewer takes a page from the murder mystery books she reviews and becomes an unlikely detective to uncover the shocking truths about an eccentric seaside town." ST. DENIS MEDICAL (NBC) - Wendi McLendon-Covey is likewise the first to board the single-camera comedy pilot as "Joyce, the Executive Director of St. Denis Medical and former oncological surgeon with big dreams for the future of St. Denis - dreams not currently being realized..." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED RONNY CHIENG PROJECT (Hulu) - The streamer has passed on the Ronny Chieng-project, which presumably was still in the script stage. Producer 20th Television plans to shop it elsewhere. (Deadline.com)
