LOS ANGELES, CA (October 14, 2025) - Lifetime expands its Ripped from the Headlines slate with a powerful new original movie Shopping Cart Killer (working title) set to debut in 2026. Based on a true story, the gripping thriller stars NAACP image award winner Lela Rochon (Waiting to Exhale, Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted by Love) and Leo Award nominee Jarod Joseph (The 100, Once Upon a Time). Elisabeth Rohm continues her relationship with Lifetime to direct and executive produce the movie. This mark's Rohm's seventh movie she has directed for the network including: Girl in the Basement; Devil on Campus: The Larry Ray Story; Wife Stalker; Husband, Father, Killer: The Alyssa Pladl Story; Girl in Room 13; and Switched at Birth.
After sending her son off to military school, Monica White (Rochon) is finally ready to start dating again and focus on herself. When she meets Anthony Robinson (Joseph) online, she is charmed by him and believes she's finally found a real connection. As their relationship deepens, Monica decides to meet Anthony in person but is unaware Anthony harbors a dangerous secret - he's a serial killer preying on women through dating apps. After her birthday celebration, his demeanor turns menacing. Trusting her instincts and quick thinking, Monica manages to get Anthony out of her home before things escalate. When she begins connecting the dots between Anthony's past and a string of murders haunting her community, Monica realizes she may be the key to ending his deadly rampage.
Shopping Cart Killer (wt) Is produced by Navid Soofi for PF Birch Productions Inc. in association with Rohm Feifer Entertainment and Studio TF1 America. Elisabeth Rohm, Kara Feifer, Timothy O.
