LOS ANGELES, September 14, 2005 - The second season finale (Tuesday, Sept. 13, 10-11:04 PM) of the critically acclaimed drama Rescue Me posted its highest ratings since the series premiere (7/21/04) delivering 3.6 million total viewers and an impressive 2.4 million Adults 18-49. Rescue Me was basic cable's #1 ranked program in delivery of Adults 18-49 on Tuesday night.

The numbers for season two of Rescue Me were on par with its first season. For the 13 episodes (first-run) of its second season, the show averaged 2.8 million total viewers, up +4% vs. season one (2.7 million total viewers), and 1.8 million Adults 18-49, down -5% from season one (1.9 million Adults 18-49). This season, Rescue Me got off to a mild start, but gained strength over its final five episodes, averaging 3 million total viewers and 2 million Adults 18-49.

For 2005-to-date, Rescue Me ranks #8 in delivery of Adults 18-49 of all primetime series on basic cable, and ranks #3 among Men 18-49 (975,000). For the complete second season, the median age of Rescue Me was 39.3; 92% of the audience was 18 years of age or older; and the gender split was 53% male and 47% female.

For 2005-to-date, Rescue Me ranks #8 in delivery of Adults 18-49 of all primetime series on basic cable, and ranks #3 among Men 18-49 (975,000). For the complete second season, the median age of Rescue Me was 39.3; 92% of the audience was 18 years of age or older; and the gender split was 53% male and 47% female.

The 2.4 million Adults 18-49 for the season two finale of Rescue Me is the highest delivery of any series finale on basic cable 2005-to-date (The Closer ranks #2 in Adults 18-49 for basic cable series season finales in 2005 with 2.3 million Adults 18-49).

FX recently picked up Rescue Me for a third season, ordering 13 episodes. Production of season three begins early next year and will debut in the second quarter of 2006.

The series premiere episode (7/21/04) ranks as the most watched episode of Rescue Me with 4.1 million total viewers and 2.5 million Adults 18-49.

FX will air encore telecasts of the Rescue Me second season finale this Friday, Sept. 16 at 11 PM and this Sunday, Sept. 18 at 10 PM.

Rescue Me was created by Denis Leary and Peter Tolan and is produced by Apostle, DreamWorks Television and The Cloudland Company in association with Sony Pictures Television. Executive Producers are Leary, Tolan and Jim Serpico, and Leary stars along with stars Michael Lombardi, James McCaffrey, Jack McGee, Steven Pasquale, Andrea Roth, John Scurti and Daniel Sunjata.
