CBS PLACES FIRST IN VIEWERS FOR THE 9TH CONSECUTIVE WEEK

CBS Continues as Only Network Up for the Season in all Key Measures

CBS has 8 of the Top 10 Scripted Programs Led "The Mentalist"

Penultimate Episode of "The Amazing Race" Sprints to Next Week's Finish Line with its Fifth Consecutive Time Period Win in Viewer and Key Demos

The Music of Pearl Jam Boosts "Cold Case" Adult 18-49 Ratings By +38% Versus Last Week

"Survivor" and "CSI" Post Week-to-Week Gains

CBS placed first in viewers for the ninth consecutive week (and 26 of 32 this season) and continues as the only network posting season-to-date gains in all key measures, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending May 3, week 32 of the 2008-2009 television season.

CBS had eight of the top 10 scripted series-THE MENTALIST (the No. 1 scripted program of the week), NCIS, CSI, TWO AND A HALF MEN, CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI: NY, COLD CASE and WITHOUT A TRACE. Meanwhile, part one of the COLD CASE finale which featured music exclusively by Pearl Jam, saw its week-to-week ratings increase by +18% in both viewers and adults 25-54 and +38% in adults 18-49.

The penultimate episode of THE AMAZING RACE 14 won its time period in viewers and key demographics for the fifth consecutive week while SURVIVOR: TOCANTINS swept its Thursday time slot with week-to-week gains.

For the season, CBS is the only network posting year-to-year increases in all key measures: +12% in viewers, +7% in adults 18-49 and +8% in adults 25-54.

For the week in viewers: CBS (11.11m), FOX (8.85m), ABC (8.37m) and NBC (6.43m). Season-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (11.75m), ahead of FOX (9.69m), ABC (8.88m) and NBC (7.94m).

For the week in households: CBS (6.9/12), ABC (5.5/09), FOX (5.3/09) and NBC (4.2/07). In households, season-to-date, CBS is first (7.3/12) ahead of FOX (5.7/09), ABC (5.6/09) and NBC (4.9/08).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 25-54 (3.6/09, -0.1 behind FOX) and adults 18-49 (2.7/08).Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +6% in both households and adults 25-54, +11% in viewers and +4% in adults 18-49. Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.1/10, tie with FOX) and second in adults 18-49 (3.2/08).

CBS's Weekly Highlights:

? TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in adults 18-49 (4.9/12), adults 18-34 (3.5/10), second in households (8.7/13), viewers (14.16m) and adults 25-54 (5.8/13).

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT was first in households (7.0/11), viewers (11.30m), adults 25-54 (4.8/11) and adults 18-49 (3.9/10). Compared to last week, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT was up +8% in households (from 6.5/10), +4% in adults 25-54 (from 4.6/10), +3% in adults 18-49 (from 3.8/09) and added +710,000 viewers (from 10.59m, +7%).

CSI: MIAMI was first in households (7.9/13), viewers (12.12m), adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and adults 18-49 (3.3/09).

NCIS was second in households (10.1/16), viewers (16.70m), adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and adults 18-49 (3.5/10).

THE MENTALIST was first in households (10.6/16), viewers (17.11m) and adults 25-54 (5.2/12). Compared to the last first-run episode (on April 7, 2009), THE MENTALIST was up +3% in both households (from 10.3/16) and adults 18-49 (3.7/09 from 3.6/09), even in adults 25-54 and added +190,000 viewers (from 16.92m, +1%).

WITHOUT A TRACE was first in households (7.9/13), viewers (12.21m), second in adults 25-54 (3.5/09) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07).

CSI: NY was first in households (8.1/14), viewers (12.50m), adults 25-54 (4.1/10) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09). Compared to the last first-run episode (on April 15, 2009), CSI: NY was up +4% in households (from 7.8/13), +8% in adults 25-54 (from 3.8/10), +10% in adults 18-49 (from 2.9/08) and added +360,000 viewers (from 12.14m, +3%).

SURVIVOR: TOCANTINS was first in households (7.0/12), viewers (11.73m), adults 25-54 (4.6/13) and adults 18-49 (3.6/11). Compared to last week, SURVIVOR was up +3% in both households (from 6.8/12) and adults 18-49 (from 3.5/11), +2% in adults 25-54 (from 4.5/13) and added +430,000 viewers (from 11.30m, +4%).

CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (9.7/15), viewers (15.54m) and second in both adults 25-54 (5.0/12) and adults 18-49 (3.7/09). Compared to last week, CSI was up +5% in households (from 9.2/15), +2% in adults 25-54 (from 4.9/11), even in adults 18-49 and added +900,000 viewers (from 14.64m, +6%).

CRIMINAL MINDS THURSDAY SPECIAL (R) (S) (10:01-11:00PM) was first in viewers (10.23m), tied for first in households (6.7/11, with ABC), second in both adults 25-54 (3.3/09) and adults 18-49 (2.3/07).

GHOST WHISPERER was first in households (6.2/12), viewers (9.79m), adults 25-54 (3.3/11) and adults 18-49 (2.4/09).

FLASHPOINT was first in households (6.0/11), viewers (9.66m), adults 25-54 (3.0/09) and adults 18-49 (2.1/07). Compared to last week, FLASHPOINT was up +13% in households (from 5.3/10), +36% in adults 25-54 (from 2.2/07), +31% in adults 18-49 (from 1.6/05) and added +1.54m viewers (from 8.12m, +18%).

NUMB3RS was first in households (6.0/11), viewers (9.70m), adults 25-54 (3.0/09) and adults 18-49 (2.2/07).

-- Sunday, CBS was first in households (6.8/12), viewers (11.40m), second in both adults 25-54 (3.5/09) and adults 18-49 (2.6/08). CBS won 10 consecutive Sundays in viewers.

60 MINUTES was first in households (7.8/15), viewers (12.31m), tied for first in adults 25-54 (2.8/09, with ABC) and second in adults 18-49 (2.0/07). Compared to last week, 60 MINUTES was up +15% in households (from 6.8/13), +22% in adults 25-54 (from 2.3/07), +33% in adults 18-49 (from 1.5/05) and added +1.79m viewers (from 10.52m, +17%).

THE AMAZING RACE 14 was first for the fifth consecutive broadcast in households (6.0/10), viewers (10.84m), adults 25-54 (4.1/11) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09). Compared to last week, THE AMAZING RACE 14 was even in households, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 while adding +370,000 viewers (from 10.27m, +6%).

COLD CASE was second in households (7.5/12), viewers (12.46m) and adults 25-54 (3.8/09). COLD CASE was up +15% in households (from 6.5/10), +19% in adults 25-54 (from 3.2/07), +38% in adults 18-49 (2.9/08 from 2.1/05) and added +1.89m viewers (from 10.57m, +18%) compared to last week.

THE UNIT was first in viewers (9.97m). Compared to last week, THE UNIT was up +7% in households (5.9/10 from 5.5/09), +14% in adults 25-54 (3.2/08 from 2.8/07), +20% in adults 18-49 (2.4/06 from 2.0/05) and added +1.13m viewers (from 8.84m, +13%).
