Network Wins Opening Four Weeks in Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 for the First Time Since 1987

CBS Continues to Have the Top Five New Programs of the Season

CBS placed first in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the fourth consecutive week, marking the first time since 1987 that the Network has won the opening four weeks of a season in all key ratings measures, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Oct. 17, week four of the 2010-2011 television season.

CBS again had the week's top five new programs in viewers (MIKE & MOLLY, HAWAII FIVE-0, BLUE BLOODS, $#*! MY DAD SAYS and THE DEFENDERS) and the top three in adults 18-49 (MIKE & MOLLY, $#*! MY DAD SAYS and HAWAII FIVE-0)

CBS had six of the week's top 10 programs: NCIS; NCIS: LOS ANGELES; THE MENTALIST; CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION; CRIMINAL MINDS and TWO AND A HALF MEN.

THE DEFENDERS, which swept its time period for the first time this season, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, $#*! MY DAD SAYS, THE BIG BANG THEORY and THE MENTALIST all posted week-to-week increases.

CBS won the Monday-Friday 10:00 PM time period in viewers and key demographics every night this week.

For the week in viewers, CBS (11.05m) placed ahead of ABC (8.78m), FOX (7.53m) and NBC (7.14m). For the week in households, CBS (6.8/12) leads ABC (5.6/09), NBC and FOX (4.5/08, each).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (3.6/09) and adults 18-49 (2.7/08). CBS won its fourth consecutive week in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. This is the first time that any network won every week of the first four weeks of the season in these measures since 2001 (NBC). Season-to-date, CBS is first in both adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and adults 18-49 (3.3/09).

CBS's Weekly Highlights:

? TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in adults 25-54 (5.8/13), adults 18-49 (4.5/11) and second in viewers (13.47m).

? MIKE & MOLLY was second in households (6.6/10), viewers (10.72m), adults 25-54 (4.6/10) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09).

? HAWAII FIVE-0 was first in viewers (10.70m), adults 25-54 (4.1/10), adults 18-49 (3.1/08) and tied for first in households (6.9/11, with ABC). HAWAII FIVE-0 won its time slot every week this season in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

-- On Tuesday, CBS was first in households (9.7/15), viewers (15.69m), adults 25-54 (4.5/11) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (3.3/09, with FOX). This was CBS's closest finish to FOX in adults 18-49 (tie) on a Tuesday this season.

? NCIS was first in households (11.6/18), viewers (19.20m) and adults 25-54 (5.4/14); it was second in adults 18-49 (3.9/11). Compared to last week, NCIS was up +2% in adults 25-54 (from 5.3/13) and +3% in adults 18-49 (from 3.8/11).

? NCIS: LOS ANGELES was tied for first in adults 25-54 (4.7/11, with ABC), adults 18-49 (3.5/09, with ABC) and second in households (9.7/15) and viewers (16.05m, -0.03 behind ABC). Compared to last week, NCIS: LOS ANGELES was up +3% in adults 18-49 (from 3.4/09), even in adults 25-54.

? THE GOOD WIFE was first in households (7.7/13), viewers (11.82m), adults 25-54 (3.5/09) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07) for the third straight week.

--On Wednesday, CBS was first in households (7.3/12), viewers (12.07m), adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and adults 18-49 (3.3/09). CBS was first in these measures for the fourth consecutive Wednesday this season and the second straight night this week.

? SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA was first in households (6.9/11), viewers (12.32m), adults 25-54 (4.8/13) and adults 18-49 (3.8/11). CBS swept this time slot for the fifth consecutive week.

? CRIMINAL MINDS was first in households (8.7/14), viewers (14.00m) and adults 25-54 (4.7/11); it was second in adults 18-49 (3.5/10). Compared to last week, CRIMINAL MINDS was up +4% adults 25-54 (from 4.5/11), even in adults 18-49 and added +130,000 viewers (from 13.87m, +1%).

? THE DEFENDERS was first in households (6.3/11), viewers (9.90m), adults 25-54 (3.4/09) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07). THE DEFENDERS won the 10:00 PM time slot for the second straight week in households, viewers and adults 25-54, winning the time period in adults 18-49 for the first time this season. Compared to last week, THE DEFENDERS was up +5% in households (from 6.0/11), +13% in adults 25-54 (from 3.0/08), +14% in adults 18-49 (from 2.2/06) and added +520,000 viewers (from 9.38m, +6%).

-- CBS was first on Thursday in households (8.4/14), viewers (13.65m), adults 25-54 (4.6/12) and adults 18-49 (3.4/10). CBS has won the first four Thursdays of the season in these measures for the first time since 2005.

? THE BIG BANG THEORY was first in households (7.6/13), viewers (12.57m), adults 25-54 (5.4/16), adults 18-49 (4.3/14) and adults 18-34 (2.8/10). Compared to last week, THE BIG BANG THEORY was up +8% in adults 25-54 (from 5.0/15), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 4.1/13), even in households.

? $#*! MY DAD SAYS was first in households (6.1/10), viewers (10.16m), adults 25-54 (4.2/11) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09). Compared to last week, $#*! MY DAD SAYS was up +2% in households (from 6.0/10), +11% in adults 25-54 (from 3.8/11), +10% in adults 18-49 (from 2.9/09) and added +390,000 viewers (from 9.77m, +4%). $#*! MY DAD SAYS topped a live broadcast of "30 Rock" in these measures.

? CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (8.9/14) and viewers (14.45m) and second in adults 25-54 (4.4/11). Compared to last week, CSI was up +14% in households (from 7.8/12), +16% in adults 25-54 (from 3.8/09), +15% in adults 18-49 (3.1/08 from 2.7/07) and added +1.95m viewers (from 12.50m, +16%).
