On its first original telecast in 3 weeks (since 3/11/14), ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned to more than doubled the delivery of Fox's Glee in the 8pm hour in Total Viewers (+108% - 5.4 million vs. 2.6 million ) and doubled it in Adults 18-49 (+100% - 1.8/5 vs. 0.9/3). In addition, S.H.I.E.L.D. tied NBC's The Voice for first place in the hour with Men 18-34 (1.6/7) and beat CBS' original NCIS by 60% (1.0/4) to rank as the #1 scripted series in its slot for its 16th-straight original broadcast among hard-to-reach young men. A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 49% currently, from 47% at the same point in 2013. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year- to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
