Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC, "The Voice" Rise in Latest Victory

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (12/8/15):

NBC (10.532 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday with a new "The Voice" (12.935 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) alongside the fall finales of "Chicago Med" (9.602 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.1, #3) and "Chicago Fire" (9.061 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.0, #4).

CBS (9.099 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) then claimed the silver despite repeats of "NCIS" (11.377 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #5) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (9.330 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6) plus its annual special "The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" (6.592 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.3, #2).

Next up was ABC (3.393 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and its fall exits from "The Muppets" (3.828 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10), "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.931 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T8) and "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (3.842 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6) alongside a repeat "Shark Tank" (2.459 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #13).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.550 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4) served up a new "Scream Queens" (2.619 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #11) and the finale to "Scream Queens" (2.481 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #12).

And finally, the fall finales from "The Flash" (3.411 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T8) and "iZombie" (1.498 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #14) on The CW (2.454 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T4) closed out the night.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (12/9/14):

CBS (10.004 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1) claimed top demo and total viewer honors on Tuesday with its mix of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" (10.669 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.8, #2) and "NCIS" (10.223 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T4) encores plus "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" (9.119 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1).

NBC (6.638 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T2) then claimed the silver with its lineup of "The Voice" (10.870 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #3), "Marry Me" (4.858 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T9), "About a Boy" (3.732 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #15) and "Angelina Jolie: Unbroken" (4.749 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #14).

Next up was FOX (3.905 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T2) with originals from "MasterChef Junior" (4.884 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.6, #6), "New Girl" (3.290 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T7) and "The Mindy Project" (2.560 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T9).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.849 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4) served up a repeat "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" (4.179 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11) alongside the fall finales of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (5.224 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T4) and "Forever" (5.144 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11).

And finally, The CW (3.671 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4) closed out the evening with its own fall finales from "The Flash" (4.534 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T7) and "Supernatural" (2.808 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T11). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "The Flash" posted a 1.0 rating while "Supernatural" delivered a 0.8 rating.
