NBC Ties for the Wednesday Win Among the Big 4 in 18-49, With "Grinch" the #1 Show of the Night and an "Adele" Encore Winning at 9

NBC TIES FOR THE WEDNESDAY WIN AMONG THE BIG 4 IN 18-49, WITH "GRINCH" THE #1 SHOW OF THE NIGHT AND AN "ADELE" ENCORE WINNING AT 9

Wednesday Primetime Results:

A rebroadcast of the 1967 animated classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (1.2/5 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET):

· Is the #1 telecast of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49.

· Ranks #1 among those nets in the half-hour in 18-49 and most other key demos.

· Versus its first airing this season on Wednesday, Dec. 2, retained 80% in 18-49 (1.2 vs. 1.5) and 88% in total viewers (4.919 million vs. 5.604 million).

An encore telecast of "How Murray Saved Christmas" (0.9/4 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 8:30-9 p.m. ET):

· Jumps 0.4 of a point or +80% versus its first rebroadcast this season (0.9 vs. 0.5 at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17) and is up +62% in total viewers (3.562 million vs. 2.205 million).

· Equals the 18-49 rating for the show's original run (0.9 at 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014) and virtually matches its debut total viewership (3.562 million vs. 3.574 million).

· Delivers the best results to date among three "Murray" encores on NBC.

An encore telecast of the NBC Special "Adele Live in New York City" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET):

· Wins the time period among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and all other key categories (including a tie in men 18-34).

· Is extremely close to rounding up to a 1.2 (currently reporting a 1.148 in these prelim fast-affiliate results).

"Michael Bublé's Christmas in Hollywood," (0.6/2 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET):

· Ranked #2 or tied for #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in the hour in men and women 18-49, adults and women 18-34 and adults, men and women 25-54.

NBC tied for #1 for the night among the Big 4 in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 and was #1 outright among those nets in adults 18-34 and all key adult-female demos.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Wednesday Night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.5/6 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.8/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.8/4 with an encore.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
