Christmas Eve Encore of "It's a Wonderful Life" Wins the Night Among the Big 4 Networks in Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers
NBC spins the numbers for Thursday, December 24 and Friday, December 25.

Thursday Primetime Results (Note that CBS carried high-rated NFL football in the San Francisco-Oakland and San Diego markets):

A Christmas Eve encore of "It's a Wonderful Life" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall from 8-11 p.m. ET):

· Wins the night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and total viewers.

· Ranks #1 or tied for #1 among those nets in men and women 18-49, men 18-34 and adults, men and women 25-54.

· Grows by +83% from its first half-hour to its sixth in adults 18-49 (0.6 to 1.1), +88% in adults 25-54 (0.8 to 1.5) and +45% or 1.4 million persons in total viewers (3.2 million to 4.6 million), facing added competition this year from ABC's "A Charlie Brown Christmas," CBS's "Big Bang Theory" encore and an NFL Network Chargers-Raiders game.

· This was NBC's 40th primetime telecast of "It's a Wonderful Life," directed by Frank Capra and starring Jimmy Stewart, since the movie was brought to broadcast network television in 1994.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday Night:

NBC's regular late-night schedule was preempted by Christmas Eve programming.

Friday Primetime Results (Correction: The 8-9 p.m. telecasts of "Truth Be Told" were originals):

Two telecasts of "Truth Be Told" (0.5/2 in 18-49, 2.0 million viewers overall from 8-8:30 p.m. ET; 0.4/2 in 18-49, 1.7 million viewers overall from 8:30-9 p.m. ET):

· Maintained 100% in rating from half-hour to half-hour in men 18-49, men 18-34 and adults, men and women 25-54.

An encore telecast of "Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET):

· Tied for #1 in the time period among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

· Ranked #1 outright among those nets in adults 18-34, women 18-34 and women 25-54.

· Grew from its first half-hour to its fourth in total viewers by +41% or nearly 1.4 million viewers (3.3 million to 4.6 million).

· For its fourth half-hour from 10:30-11 p.m., ranked #1 or tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key demographic.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday Night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.7/4 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.5/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/4 with an encore.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.5/2 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/1 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.8/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.2/2 in 18-49 with an encore) tied "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/2 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.1/1 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
