Monday's Broadcast Ratings: "American Ninja Warrior" Powers NBC to Victory

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/20/16):

NBC (5.759 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) pulled into the top spot on Monday thanks to new episodes of "American Ninja Warrior" (6.334 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) and "Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge" (4.610 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3).

ABC (5.683 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then was a close second with originals from "The Bachelorette" (7.004 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1) and "Mistresses" (3.042 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4).

Next up was CBS (3.981 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3) with repeats of "Mom" (4.675 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4), "2 Broke Girls" (4.062 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) and "Scorpion" (4.156 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #8) plus a new "BrainDead" (3.420 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #9).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.509 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up fresh installments from "So You Think You Can Dance" (3.209 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) and "Houdini & Doyle" (1.809 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #10).

And finally, The CW (1.023 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night with the season finale of "Reign" (0.987 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11) followed by a new "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.054 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11) and a repeat "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.063 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T11).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/22/15):

ABC (5.721 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) was the most-watched network on Monday with its duo of "The Bachelorette" (6.581 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) and "The Whispers" (4.002 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4).

NBC (5.220 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) however shared in the top demo honors with new episodes from "American Ninja Warrior" (6.054 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) and "The Island" (3.552 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3).

Next up was FOX (3.303 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) and an original "So You Think You Can Dance" (3.303 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5).

Meanwhile, CBS (5.170 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) served up repeats of "2 Broke Girls" (4.606 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7), "Mike & Molly" (4.813 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5), "Scorpion" (4.544 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) and "NCIS: Los Angeles" (6.257 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7).
