Lifetime Orders 'Blonde Charity Mafia,' a New Docu-Series Set in the Fast-Paced, High-Society World of Washington, D.C.
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 20 -- Blonde ambition meets philanthropy
in the new Lifetime docu-series, "Blonde Charity Mafia," which follows a
trio of gorgeous, twenty-something, alpha girls and their quest to make a
mark on Washington, D.C., both socially and professionally -- no matter
what obstacles they face.
Production on the six-episode series will begin in September on
location in Washington, D.C.
In the city that is home to some of the world's most important power
players, one group of young women dominate the social scene, an exclusive
group known as the 'Blonde Charity Mafia,' comprised of the capital's
social heavy-hitters, Katherine Kennedy and Krista Johnson. Also featured
is Sophie Pyle, an acquaintance of the girls, who is always in attendance
at the charity functions thrown by Katherine and Krista. Their events are
always a hot ticket; their dating lives are gossiped about; and sometimes
merely their simple daily activities are chatter within the D.C. social
set. Throwing these glamorous soirees every week, they are the young
personalities of Georgetown and the darlings of the city's most fashionable
clubs and hottest restaurants.
In making the announcement, Jessica Samet, Senior Vice President,
Reality Programming, Lifetime Television, said, "Katherine, Krista and
Sophie are at the epicenter of Georgetown's young cultural scene. This
absorbing series will pull the curtain back on the fragility of friendship
among the beautiful, wealthy and powerful."
Patty Ivins Specht and Julie Pizzi ("Simple Life" and MTV's "Road
Rules") serve as executive producers. Jeff Kuntz is co-executive producer.
"Blonde Charity Mafia" is produced by PB&J Television for Lifetime
Television.
Lifetime is the leader in women's television and one of the top-rated
