BEYOND (ABC Family; W: Adam Nussdorf; D: TBA) - Newcomer Jonathan Whitesell has been tapped for a role on the drama pilot, about Holden, a young man who wakes up from a coma after 12 years and discovers new supernatural abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. He'll play Holden's clever younger brother, Luke, who grew up in the shadow of his brother's tragedy and is now faced with a brother who knows less about the world than he does. Whitesell succeeds Burkely Duffield in the role, who now reportedly plays the aforementioned Holden. Callan McAuliffe is no longer involved in the project. (Deadline.com)


EPIC OFFENDERS (Disney XD, New!) - The cable channel has given a pilot order to a new a single-camera comedy about "four young pranksters, known as "The Epic Offenders," who host a fictitious popular online hidden camera show." Cody Veith stars as Chance, the charismatic leader of a team, in the project, which also stars Brandon Severs, Bryce Gheisar, Jillian Shea Spaeder and Tobie Windham. Tom Gianas is directing from a script by Adam Small and Trevor Moore. Production is underway. (Deadline.com)


WAY, THE (Hulu/Universal; W: Jessica Goldberg; D: Mike Cahill) - Rockmond Dunbar ("The Mentalist") has joined the cast of the upcoming drama, which examines a family at the center of a controversial faith-based movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power. He'll play Abe Gaines, "a thorough FBI investigator who seems to be the only agent suspicious of the mysterious religious sect that recently responded to a natural disaster." Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan also star. (Deadline.com)


AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Daniel Sauli has been cast in HBO's "Confirmation" as Mark Paoletta, "a lawyer with the Office of White House Counsel" (Deadline.com); Marisa Tomei will recur on "Empire" as "a demanding venture capitalist who becomes involved in Lyon family drama" (Deadline.com); Melissa Leo has been tapped to play Claudia Alta Taylor "Lady Bird" Johnson in HBO's Bryan Cranston-led "All the Way" (Deadline.com); and Domenick Lombardozzi has joined the cast of FOX's "Rosewood" as Ira Hornstock, "who is considered Miami's best police captain" (THR.com).
