The Nicole Kidman Drama 'To Die For' Inspired by the Pamela Smart Case Makes its REELZ Premiere Saturday, March 19 at 5:30pm ET/ 2:30pm PT

(Albuquerque, NM) Tuesday, February 23, 2016 - REELZ today announced the return of original series Murder Made Me Famous for a two-hour television event about convicted murderer Pamela Smart including a one-on-one interview with Smart behind prison walls with PEOPLE senior crime reporter Steve Helling. In 1990 the horrific murder of 24 year-old Gregg Smart became a national media event when his attractive young wife, Pamela, was found to be having an affair with then teenager Billy Flynn who shot Gregg to death inside the Smarts' home. The case was a shocking story of sex, scandal, jealousy and cold-blooded murder - one that inspired several TV shows, books and movies including the Hollywood blockbuster To Die For starring Nicole Kidman.

The Murder Made Me Famous "Pamela Smart" episode premieres Saturday, March 19 at 10pm ET/ 7pm PT followed immediately by Pamela Smart Confessions at 11pm ET/ 8pm PT with Smart in her own words recounting the case, her conviction, life in prison without parole and her thoughts on the release of all four others connected to the case including the recent release of triggerman Flynn. The Pamela Smart episode is the first of six new Murder Made Me Famous episodes set to premiere on REELZ in 2016.

Both the Pamela Smart episode of Murder Made Me Famous and Pamela Smart Confessions prison interview special include commentary and revealing details from those closest to the case including Gregg Smart's brother, Dean, Pamela Smart's defense attorney Mark Sisti, prosecutor Paul Maggiotto and crime reporters Bill Spencer and Tami Plyler who covered the case. March 22, 2016 marks 25 years since Smart was found guilty and sentenced to life without parole. She is serving her sentence at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility which is where Helling sits down with her.

Murder Made Me Famous is a fact-based documentary series that examines killers who gained public notoriety when their crimes generated intense media coverage and made the killers household names. The unnerving psychology behind murder has long been source material for television, books and movies but why do certain killers capture the attention of millions? Each one-hour episode presents dramatic recreations of the crimes using archival material and insightful commentary from those connected to the case to help unravel the twisted personalities that were thrust into the spotlight. Featured commentator is author and PEOPLE crime reporter, Steve Helling, who has covered several high-profile crime stories including the Natalee Holloway and Laci Peterson disappearances. Murder Made Me Famous is produced by AMS Pictures.
