ALL DEF COMEDY (HBO) - The pay channel will excise Russell Simmons from the upcoming stand-up series as "the discarded mogul [has] been hit by sexual assault allegations." (Deadline.com)
COUNTERPART (Starz) - The pay channel will air a special sneak preview of the J.K. Simmons-led drama next Sunday, December 10 following the season finale of "Outlander." (Deadline.com)
HOMECOMING (Amazon) - Bobby Cannavale will star opposite Julia Roberts and Stephan James in the upcoming half-hour drama as Colin Belfast, "the ambitious off-site supervisor of the Homecoming Initiative." (Deadline.com)
ONE DAY SHE'LL DARKEN (TNT) - Arlen Escarpeta has scored a recurring role on the limited series as Xander, "Fauna's (India Eisley) LA cousin who lives in Watts." (Variety.com)
SPIRIT OF THE LAW (NBC, New!) - David Gould ("Nashville") has sold a new drama to the Peacock based on the life of California pastor Kalvin Cressel: "Cressel, who is Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the Inspector General, has served as pastor of the Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church for nearly 19 years. He would work on dangerous cases during the week, including going undercover, coming back to his flock on Sunday at what used to be the toughest church in all of Compton when the city was torn by gang violence." ITV Studios America is behind the hour with Flame Ventures' Tony Krantz and Franklin Entertainment's DeVon Franklin also executive producing. Christopher Broughton, John-Eric Capps and Kristina Sorenson are co-executive producers while Cressel himself and his wife, Pam Cressel, serve as executive consultants. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED RONALD REAGAN PROJECT (USA, New!) - David Rambo ("Empire") is spearheading a limited series at the cable channel described as "an intimate exploration of what made Ronald Reagan an American paragon, beloved husband and complex father, chronicling his early days as a lifeguard, his tumultuous years in Hollywood, and his triumphs and tragedies as President." Reagan's daughter Patti Davis is also executive producing the Universal Cable Productions-based project, as are Asylum Entertainment's Steven Michaels, Jonathan Koch, Joan Harrison, Ben Press and Primary Wave Entertainment's Bryan O'Connell.
