SCHOOL OF ROCK super-fan Drew Barrymore will host the "CBS Sunday Night Movie" broadcast of the blockbuster Paramount Pictures 2003 comedy starring Jack Black, Sept. 5 (9:00-11:06 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Barrymore reprises her "Drew's Movie Night"/"CBS Sunday Night Movie" partnership, hosting SCHOOL OF ROCK with on-air wrap-arounds and a live viewing party on "The Drew Barrymore Show" Twitter account, @drewbarrymoretv during the east coast broadcast of the movie. Additionally, CBS' Twitter account @CBS will interact with Barrymore and live Tweet as well.

"I am so thrilled to be hosting a movie night on CBS again and, to make it even more fun, we will be watching one of my all-time favorite movies, 'School of Rock'! Grab your family, friends and some snacks and join me for a live watch party," said Barrymore. "Be prepared to sing and dance!"

In the fall of 2020, Barrymore hosted the "CBS Sunday Night Movie" broadcast of "Scream," in which she starred. Barrymore is the host of "The Drew Barrymore Show," her daytime show from CBS Media Ventures, that returns for its second season on Monday, Sept. 13.

In SCHOOL OF ROCK, Jack Black stars as Dewey Finn, a hell-raising guitarist with delusions of grandeur. Desperate for work after being kicked out of his bar band, he impersonates a substitute teacher at a private elementary school and turns a class of 5th grade high-achievers into high-voltage rock and rollers ready to compete for a cash prize in a local radio station's Battle of the Bands contest. Black earned a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical, for his role.

Joan Cusack, Mike White ("The White Lotus"), Sarah Silverman and Miranda Cosgrove (the title character of the original Paramount+ series "iCarly" renewed recently for a second season), also star. The film was directed by Richard Linklater, produced by Scott Rudin and written by Mike White. Randall Poster served as the music supervisor, and Craig Wedren composed the musical score which garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.
