Jessica Simpson and Dane Cook will co-host the eighth annual special, where the coolest stars will receive coveted Teen Choice surfboard awards. TEEN CHOICE 2006 will offer an advance look at the glitz and glamour before the event during a red carpet special Sunday, Aug. 20 (7:30-8:00 PM ET Live/PT Tape-Delayed).

Additional celebrities scheduled to appear at TEEN CHOICE 2006 include actresses Jessica Alba ("Fantastic Four"), Kristen Bell ("Veronica Mars"), Rachel Bilson (THE O.C.) and Kristin Cavallari ("Laguna Beach"); teen queen Hilary Duff ("The Perfect Man"); the cast of "High School Musical"; rapper Snoop Dogg; and actor Wilmer Valderrama ("That '70s Show").

As previously announced, Kevin Federline will close the show, performing his single "Lose Control" live for the first time on network television. Other performers and presenters will be announced soon.

Furtado is a Canadian-born singer and songwriter whose first album, the multi-platinum "Whoa, Nelly!," earned her four Grammy nominations and a Best Female Pop Vocal Performance win for its lead single, "I'm Like A Bird." Her follow-up album, "Folklore," was gold-certified in the U.S., multi-platinum internationally, and included the soccer anthem "Forca." Furtado is also well-known for the diversity of her collaborations, which range from being featured on the remix of Missy Elliott's "Get UR Freak On," to a duet with crooner Michael Bubl on "Quando Quando Quando," to a duet with Latin superstar Juanes titled "Fotografia."

Furtado's recently released album "Loose" debuted at the top of the Billboard album charts and features the No.1 hit single "Promiscuous," a duet with producer Timbaland. "Promiscuous" is nominated for Choice R&B/Hip Hop Track of the year.

For the past 13 years, super-producer Timbaland has created an indelible imprint on the American music scene. His production has established career-defining hits for artists including Jodeci, Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Missy Elliott, Destiny's Child, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z, among others. Of his latest hit, "Promiscuous" with Canadian songbird Nelly Furtado, Rolling Stone says the trendsetting producer has "reinvented Nelly." Known for his unique arrangements and unusual sounds that are held together by his complex syncopated snare beats, Timbaland has stamped his trademark rhythms on the American musical landscape. Respected beyond the genres of urban and hip-hop music, Timbaland, whose musical influences cross cultural lines, is now sought by diverse superstars whose music knows no boundaries - from pop star Justin Timberlake's new album and latest single "SexyBack" to super-singer Bjork. His new music label, Mosley Music Group (MMG), released its first album for Nelly Furtado, which debuted at No. 1.

This year the coolest stars will receive coveted surfboard awards in categories such as Choice Breakout TV Show, Choice Sleazebag, Choice Hissy Fit, Choice Rumble, Choice TV Actress, Choice Rock Track, Choice Grill, Choice Athlete and Choice TV Sidekick. At TEEN CHOICE 2006, Cook is nominated for Choice Comedian and Simpson is nominated for Choice Movie Breakout Performance, Choice Red Carpet Fashion Icon and Choice Hottie. From now until Thursday, Aug. 11, voters can log on to Teenpeople.com, MySpace.com, IGN.com and FOX.com to cast their ballots for the hottest celebrities in film, television, music, sports and fashion.

TEEN CHOICE 2006 is executive-produced by Bob Bain ("Kids Choice Awards") and Mike Burg. Paul Flattery serves as producer. Greg Sills serves as supervising producer.
