ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS (FOX) - The network has commissioned a pilot based on Jennifer Saunders's famed U.K. comedy, about the boozy exploits of fashion publicist Edina and editor Patsy, both of whom face off with Edina's square daughter, Saffron. Christine Zander is behind the import, which will be relocated to Los Angeles. Jennifer Saunders, who wrote and starred in the original series as Edina, is on board to executive produce the FOX incarnation alongside Ian Moffitt of BBC Worldwide Productions and Tantamount's Mitch Hurwitz, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum for Sony Pictures Television.
HAPPY TOWN (ABC) - The Alphabet has ordered a two-hour pilot for a new drama from "October Road" co-creators Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg. The project, which is set up at ABC Studios, is a mystery set in the hamlet of "Happy Town," which had enjoyed a seven-year peace after a series of kidnappings until it is hit by another crime. The trio penned the effort on spec and will executive produce.
TRAUMA (NBC) - Dario Scardapane's drama for the Peacock has received a director-contingent pilot order. The project, which is set up at Universal Media Studios, revolves around the high-energy world of medical emergencies out in the field. Scardapane wrote the pilot and is executive producing alongside Film 44's Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey.
