CBS.COM NUMBER ONE AMONG ALL BROADCAST NETWORK SITES IN UNIQUE VIEWERS IN DECEMBER
CBS.com Nearly Doubles Other Networks in Unique Viewers According to comScore Video Metrix
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 2 - CBS.com today reported significant growth for the month of December, making it Number One among all broadcast network sites in unique viewers, according to comScore Video Metrix (December 2008).
Currently the fastest-growing network site, CBS.com posted 7.6 million unique viewers, up 181% year-over-year and up 55% month-over-month. The site currently ranks number two in video streams, with year-over-year growth of 45%. These numbers follow the recently reported Nielsen Online VideoCensus data for December where CBS also reported significant growth across all metrics.
CBS Interactive's leadership position among its network peers mirrors the success at CBS Television, which is the most-watched network in prime time, as well as the only network to grow its audience over last season.
"CBS.com continues to create highly engaging online experiences that complements CBS's broadcast programming," said Bill Binenstock, Vice President of CBS.com. "As a result, we continue to see growth both for the CBS Television Network, as well as online."
