NEW YORK - March 17, 2016 - Bravo Media's Emmy Award-winning "Inside the Actors Studio," hosted by James Lipton welcomes Christopher Meloni to the stage on Thursday, March 31st at 8pm ET/PT. The Emmy-nominated actor reveals the road that led him to his breakout role as psychotic, bisexual serial killer, Chris Keller, in HBO's "Oz" and how he felt about the character's demands for an honest portrayal of sexuality. He also discusses his critically-acclaimed 12-season run as Detective Elliot Stabler in NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," including his personal and professional relationship with co-star Mariska Hargitay. Meloni is currently starring in WGN America's newest series "Underground," which follows a group of slaves who plan a daring escape from a Georgia plantation. Washington, D.C. native Christopher Meloni began his career studying acting at the University of Colorado, Boulder before graduating with a degree in History. He worked in construction and as a bouncer before breaking into acting, studying his craft in New York. His television breakout role was on "NYPD Blue," which led to being cast on HBO's gritty landmark series "Oz."

In 1999, Meloni landed his starring role on the popular and long-running NBC series "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," while working simultaneously on "Oz" for four years. He continued on "Law & Order: SVU" for twelve seasons, earning an Emmy nomination for his performance as Detective Elliot Stabler. He then went on to star in several other series such as "True Blood," "Veep," and the Netflix series "Wet Hot American Summer," which is the prequel to the cult film in which he also starred. Meloni's big screen credits include cult favorites Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Wet Hot American Summer, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, and Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay as well as films including Man of Steel, Twelve Monkeys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Runaway Bride and Nights in Rodanthe.
